Shop with A Cop
Dec 9th 2009 Mike and Nancy Purlee, Marty and Brenda Clegg represented the club by volunteering to help the Shop With A Cop program in Floyd County. We went to Walmat in New Albany and met up with the children to shop with. It was nice to help the children find clothes , coats and shoes, and then we took them to the toy department and let them pick out some toys they liked. The children were really good kids and very grateful for the things they were getting. After we got done shopping we took them over to the Armory to eat pizza and play. Santa was there also to give them a candy cane. Shop With A Cop is such a great program. we look forward to helping next year.

Christmas Party 2009

On December 5th the Falls City Mustang Club had it's Christmas Party.  We had around 52 people in attendance.  I want to send out a special thanks to all who made this happen, Linda Crosby, Larry Mayfield, Mike and Nancy Purlee and Marty and Brenda Clegg.  Their planning of the food was excellent and the entertainment was outstanding, though I still think that Marty and Mike should keep their Day Jobs.   All kidding aside the pair of them came out as the Blues Brothers and it was GREAT!  We also had a fine game of Jeopardy which our three contestants (Norm Skee, Debbie Monbeck and Debbie Carden) tried to outwit each other with Debbie Monbeck winning.  As for the food, after Mike Rains led us all in prayer (Thanks Mike for bailing me out again) we all set down to a fine dinner that was prepared by Tuckers.  They did a fine job and their service was great.  They made everyone feel at home.  As for the Chinese gift exchange there were some awesome cut throat moves as participants jockeyed to end up with their favorite gift.  If you didn't attend you missed a great time.  So I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and let us all keep our Soldiers abroad in our Hearts and Prayer

                                                                          Steve Merritt, President

Poker Run

Oct 24th we had our Poker Run.

20 people in 10 Mustangs went on the Annual Fall Driving Tour and Poker Run.
Starting at the Pizza Hut in Jeffersonville, we headed to Beck's Mill taking some back roads and highways, traveling over the 7 Sisters and being surprised at our first stop with a Frontier Days in progress at the mill. Everyone "milled" around looking at the wares for sale and enjoying the chance to see first hand sorghum making. A quick pose for a group photo in from of the mill and back into the cars in search of our next stop - the Gasthof Amish Village in Montgomery.
Advance reservations made quick work of getting to our tables and let the buffet begin. Not saying names, but Jonathan, a regular at the Gasthof, led the way, again, and again, and again - where does he put all of that.
Time to shop and enjoy some sun, yes I said it, the sun cam out and everyone browsed the village and the shops before heading back out on the road.
It wasn't long before we arrived at the West Baden Hotel. Knowing it the atrium was closed for a private party, everyone took time to look at what they wanted in the gardens or shops or set and reflect a little on what they have seen during the day.
Next stop, French Lick Winery. The parking lot was a little rough, but we lined up the stangs and headed inside - some sampled the wine, some took advantage of the free coffee, some shopped a little more and some sat on the deck and took in the sun - this was the last stop, we had planned on going on to the French Lick Resort and see the hotel lobby, but some didn't want to take on the crowded parking lot and we finished and awarded the prizes.
Attending the Driving Tour and Poker Run,
*Charlie (1st) & Becky Reinhardt (4th),  Pam & Garry Bushar, Jeanette (3rd) & Norm Skees, Roger (Door Prize) & Joyce Wynn, Mike (2) & Linda Crosby, Bill & Lois Gill, Jonathan (Door Prize) & Debbie Hunt, Tony Skees & Janette deal, Mike & Nancy Purlee and Sandy & Charlie Smith.
