2010 FCMC Pony Trail

Friday June 18th we had our 15th Annual Pony Trail, it started out a warm day and by the time we were at the Speedway it was very hot. We started at the old K-mart parking lot in Jeffersonville at 9:45am heading north with a police escort all the way through Charlestown. From Charlestown we continued north on Hwy 62 until we came to Hwy 362, better known by locals as the Nabb Nationals, when the cars turned onto 362 they were encouraged to let the “Ponies have their reins” which I heard some were in excess of 100mph. And then when we got to the intersection of 3 and 362 they were encouraged again to turn the corner and put on a little show because there was someone taping it. Then on through to Scottsburg and then to Salem. We parked around the square in Salem for a little rest and some food. There were two trophies given out, Tony Skees won the police trophy and Donetta Swift won the mayor choice. We then proceeded to the Salem Speedway for some laps around the Historic track. Mike presented Richard Deaton a plaque and t-shirt for his generosity of letting us use the track. After everyone had their laps we went back to Jeffersonville to the Welcome Bash.
